Hey everyone, Matthew Sanabria here from Oxide Computer Company. A common question we get asked is,
What is the minimum configuration for an Oxide rack?
Now, physically the Oxide rack is one physical footprint, but you can start out with a 16 sled rack to enable your testing and your POC environment. That way you can have an Oxide rack deployed in your data center and your location next to all the dependencies you want to validate.
And once you’ve done that validation, you can then scale up that same rack by adding more compute sleds and increasing the footprint. And all of that comes to you in the same footprint, in the same control plane APIs, integration points that you’re used to.
Now if this sort of flexible buy-a-rack-and-scale-it-up-as-you-need sounds good to you, let us know. Oxide is probably a fit for you. Reach out to us at oxide.computer and we’re happy to chat.
