Hey, it’s Bryan from Oxide, back with another FAQ Friday. One of the questions that we get, and we actually got a lot internally, was:
How do we use LLMs at Oxide?
This is a question that we got so frequently that we wrote an RFD about it, a "Request for Discussion." If you follow Oxide at all, you know we’ve got a very documentation-heavy culture, and we wrote an RFD, RFD 576, on how we use LLMs at Oxide.
And the answer is, we use them in many different capacities, but we use them as a tool. Our core belief at Oxide is that LLMs are valuable and that they do not pose an existential risk to humanity.
That feels like a very commonsensical position, but we seem to be one of the few that’s really staking that position out.
We have found that when folks come inbound, especially if they’re interested in working at Oxide, they’ve often read RFD 576 and that they have tried to promote it within their own organization.
So, if you’re curious about how we use LLMs at Oxide, check that RFD out, RFD 576. And you may find that you want to share it in your organization, or maybe you find that you want to join us because you’ve got the same views on how LLMs should be used at a company.
Thanks, and see you next time!
