Hey, it’s Bryan from Oxide, back with another FAQ Friday and a question that we may get more frequently than any other question:
What is Oxide’s thinking around GPUs?
We don’t have a GPU sled today. What is our thinking around GPUs? Clearly, we are believers in the acceleration that the GPGPU provides, and we have looked at that space very, very carefully.
We want to have an accelerator. We want to have a GPU sled. But it’s very important when we build that sled that we do it in a way that preserves Oxide value. What’s Oxide value? The ability to design that system holistically end-to-end so anyone who’s deploying a GPU sled, any issue they have, we can support.
What does that mean? That means we need to work with someone who has, for example, our same approach to firmware, open source firmware, an open source system, an open system, a tight engineering collaboration. For that reason, I gotta tell you, not a big secret, we’ve been really rooting for AMD. We were just at their AMD launch, Advancing AI, and really optimistic about their forthcoming parts.
So yes, we are absolutely looking to the GPU, and you can expect us to look to a partner with whom we can deliver Oxide value, and boy, AMD is sure making all the right moves.
Thanks, and see you next time.
