We started with the company in 2019. We really wanted to survey the landscape because first and foremost, we knew we needed to find a partner that was gonna deliver not just a competitive CPU, but a leading CPU. So we needed that first and foremost. Secondly, though, we were also looking for someone who would really partner with us on our approach to systems. Our philosophy about systems, our approach to the hardware, software, co-design, our desire to eliminate the BIOS and be the actual lowest level of platform enablement in our own software.

And if you take the intersection of all that, that leaves you with one company standing far above the rest. And that was AMD. So we were excited to attach our fate to AMD in 2019. We loved building our first generation sled on the AMD Milan part. Loved what they were doing with Milan. Loved what they did with Genoa. And then we especially love what they’ve done with Turin.

This is our AMD Turin based sled here, and this CPU is outstanding. It’s got a really wide range of SKU stacks so you can get a variety of performance use cases versus core count, and at its highest core count 192 cores. This thing is just an absolute monster in the best possible ways. This thing, it performs well. We love that the Zen 5 architecture’s been terrific. This thing performs well and most importantly, we’ve been able to actually deliver the kind of differentiated value that we wanted in our system around this AMD part.

And that means the elimination of the BIOS, our approach to security and attestation using some of the components that are in this AMD Turin CPU to deliver terrific results for our customers in the Oxide rack. That’s why we use AMD. That’s the partnership for AMD.
