Do you like to bring order to chaos while working with a team of talented, uplifting people? We are seeking a software technical program manager to help us prioritize, organize, and track our product software efforts. This is an intensely collaborative position, and while it’s very remote-friendly, candidates must be able to work a US Pacific timezone schedule.
As a software program manager working at Oxide, you will:
Work with internal stakeholders on product software development priorities, schedule, and tradeoffs – clarify product software goals more than manage activity towards unclear goals
Collaborate with peers and other functions across hardware and software engineering to understand the dependencies between work streams and implement best practices around program management
Support teams in identifying and mitigating blockers and risks to delivering high quality software features to customers while continuously improving release processes and tools
Model transparency in communication, ensuring all teams have the context they need to make good product decisions. Align cross-functional teams around the scope and urgency of requests and changes by avoiding siloed messaging.
Manage programs with a light touch - helping teams stay focused on delivering the product vision through high level planning and facilitation
Contribute to process documentation and help maintain the accuracy of data in our program management tools. Make recommendations to improve our ways of working
Contribute to other areas of the product that interest you–beyond your day-to-day program management duties
You will thrive in this role if you:
Have previously worked with complex cross-functional software deliverables involving multiple teams and evolving priorities
Would call communication your superpower and can converse clearly and succinctly with both engineering teams and the rest of the company
Demonstrate good judgement and often consider the impact of communications and actions on others. Validate assumptions, especially your own
Feel a sense of responsibility for the success of the engineering teams and the product, and measure that success in their terms
Are thorough and organized without losing big picture focus
Build trust by following through with integrity and leading by example. Motivate and empower teams with humility and respect
Aren’t intimidated by ambiguity but rather find creative ways to navigate through it
Can work hours that correspond to working hours in the US Pacific timezone
Are energized by the thought of operating between traditional roles and silos
Value the written word, can concisely communicate in written form
Get excited about a wide range of technical topics and dig really deeply into them
Before applying for the role, you should:
